The most beautiful cycling tours in the Alps
October last Lonely planet published an article about some of the most beautiful and must have done cycling tours in the French Alps. And what do you know? Almost all are in the Alps Experience!
The article starts off with the Annecy region, mentioning “the true allure of the ‘Venice of the Alps’: the diamond-cut lake and crown of snow-sieved alpine peaks” and then describes a nice tour up to Semnoz. Sounds like stage three in the AlpExperience in which we’ll cross the Bauges National park, go over Semnoz and descend into Annecy and then ride alongside the lake for a bit.
The article continues, first mentioning Chamonix, beautiful!, and focusses on the Oisans region. Of course there’s La Marmotte. The famous Granfondo over Glandon, Télégraph, Galibier and Alp d’Huez. Very famous cols which, I agree, you should really ride. Especially Glandon and Galibier are really beautiful. The first stage of the Alps Experience goes to Alp d’Huez, the second over Glandon, and coming back from the north on day six we’ll do Télégraph and Galibier. So if you want to empty your bucket list fast, ride the Alps Experience!
